Single-ended amplifiers are very easy. However, when you add DHTs into the mix that brings complexity on the power supply for the filaments. There are plenty of simple designs out there that you can check.
If you want something really simple, you can look out for a spud-amp based on the 6e5p triode. That is simple. However, every build needs some knowledge behind and building experience. You can start with kits perhaps.
The Summit S-9 is not the amorphous version. These transformers are pricey but worth every penny. They are big and heavy! Luckily they just fit on my chassis. When I built years ago this output stage chassis I took into account that I wanted to fit the S-9 OPTs which I originally purchased for my 300B.
I will need some time to make a good judgement. So far I have to say that it sounds very very good. The bass is slightly stronger due to the additional Lp. The timbre and detail is there, I really like the sound of them. A remarkable piece of engineering from MM, well done!
Have you ever had a tube amp building for novis builders?

Nice…how does it compare ? Is this the normal version or the amorphous ?
