Thanks Barry. It’s a random improvisation I recorded in a sort of clumsy way. I struggle to find time to play so I’m not making much progress yet.
It’s a very dynamic and rich instrument. I love having fun with the loop system. I was fascinated more than 20 years ago when I first heard the “Frippertronics” which Robert Fripp used with Brian Eno. I highly recommend listening to “No Pussyfooting” if you haven’t heard this before. At that time the loops where created with a tape machine with separate reading and recording heads with a closed tape. An amazing thing. Today, there are versatile small loops made out of DSP and memory, that’s all you need.
Here’s a picture of me playing the Railroad Chapman Stick. I’m sitting on a chair in my workshop.
Nice Sound Ale
