Overview
The circuit has been covered to death. Here is a flexible Cap Multiplier filter for HT purposes. It has the following features:
- Two modes of operations
- Voltage set by classical resistor divider (lower PSR)
- Voltage set by CCS and resistor (higher PSR)
- Power supply noise rejection: Above 100dB
- Multiple MOSFET pass device options: TO-220 and TO-247
- Current limiter option at the output
- Last filtering capacitor: film type (e.g. DC Link)
- HT indicator: Neon (INS-1)
- Voltage range can be adjusted with a single trimpot from 0 to 450V
- Slow turn on constant

Completed Boards
I have a pair of completed and tested 400V variable cap multiplier boards for supply filtering. These are ideal for a preamp or an amp. They will do 0-400V variable (with trimpot) and current limiter set to 200mA. It can be modified with single resistor and you will need a bigger heatsink for the SiC MOSFET should you want to provide more current:
The boards have excellent quality Kemet electrolytic capacitors as well as a WIMA DC Link 45uF (the big red one) as the final capacitor in the audio chain.
The plain boards are £15 each. Completed boards are available for £90 each until they run out. Only small batch produced of PCBs
Ordering PCB
Please fill out the form below and I will get back to you once you confirmed quantity and shipping method (e.g. Standard or Tracked postage).
Due to pandemic situation, USPS and other national post services have been a bit unreliable so I recommend tracked shipping where possible depending the value of the goods.
Upon completion of payment, I will provide BOM and build guide.
I don’t sell kits nor parts, appreciate your understanding.
